Event Details

Attention all  elementary school-aged girls who like the American Girl © books or dolls! We have a new book club for you.

American Girl © offers many character stories that help explore historical perspectives from a girl’s point of view.

At each monthly American Girl Book Club meeting, we will gather to discuss a different American Girl book. We’ll make crafts or play games that tie into the book, character, or era.

During our November meetings, we’ll travel to 1764 and meet a girl named Kaya. Kaya dreams of becoming a courageous leader of her tribe, the Nez Perce. Book club members should read Meet Kaya , or have someone read the book to them, before our meeting so that they can participate in the discussion.

Girls may bring a doll to our meeting, but a doll isn’t mandatory.  Registration is required to ensure that we have enough materials. You may register here on our website, or call 256-461-0046.  For more information or questions, email Teresa at tallison@hmcpl.org.
